This was where we wanted to raise our family.

When my daughter was just 11 months old, my late husband and I made one of the most important decisions of our lives. We chose to move to this corner of Stevenson Ranch because we believed in the value of the Newhall School District.

Like so many young parents, we researched schools before we bought a home. We weren’t simply looking for a place to live—we were looking for a community where our daughter could learn, grow, and belong. We were drawn to the district’s outstanding academic reputation, its commitment to students, and the welcoming community we found here.

As an active parent, I had the privilege of serving on the Newhall School District’s Measure E Citizens’ Oversight Committee, helping ensure our local taxpayer bond funds were spent responsibly, transparently, and in the best interests of our students. That experience reinforced the importance of fiscal accountability and thoughtful stewardship of our hard-earned taxpayer dollars.

Professionally, I have dedicated my career to public service, working in the California State Assembly and now serving as a director for a statewide nonprofit organization. Throughout my career, I have partnered with elected officials, school board members, community leaders, and volunteers across California to build coalitions and strengthen communities. 

As a Trustee, my priorities are clear: protecting the academic excellence that makes our district one of the best in California, ensuring every taxpayer dollar is invested wisely, supporting the outstanding teachers and staff who make student success possible, and maintaining safe, welcoming schools where every child has the opportunity to thrive.

The Newhall School District gave my family a sense of community, lifelong friendships, cherished memories from our daughter’s childhood, and the confidence that we had made the right choice as young parents.

Now I want to ensure that the next generation of families experiences the same opportunity, sense of belonging, and educational excellence that made the Newhall School District the place we proudly chose to call home.
